Privacy

Your health information stays yours.

Fertility data is sensitive. This page explains exactly what Kouros Health collects, how testing data is handled, what we do to protect it, and the choices you control.

The short version
  • We collect the minimum needed to run the service: your email, your assessment answers, and your test results.
  • Samples and results move through a licensed laboratory under barcode-based chain of custody, and a clinician reviews before release.
  • Access is restricted, data is encrypted, and your health answers never go to advertising platforms or standard web analytics.
  • Marketing emails are optional and separate. You control them by category, and you can export or delete your data.

What we collect

Three kinds of information, and what each one is for.

We would rather tell you plainly what we hold than leave you guessing.

What you tell us

Your email address, the answers you give in the fertility assessment, and your email preferences. When testing is live, we also hold your shipping address and the details needed to process an order.

What your sample produces

Laboratory results from the testing you requested, the reference ranges and flags applied to them, and any notes from the clinician review that accompanies your report.

What is collected automatically

Basic technical information such as browser and device type, the page you came from, and which version of a page you saw. This stays separate from your health answers and is not used to identify you to advertisers.

What we do not ask for

You do not need an account, a national ID, a social security number, or an insurance card to check your fertility. The assessment is designed so you can get a useful next step without handing over more than the question asks.

How testing data is handled

From your hands, to the lab, to a clinician, back to you.

01

You collect at home

Collection happens privately at home, in packaging that does not identify Kouros Health or the nature of the test on the outside.

02

The sample travels as a barcode

Your sample is tracked by barcode through a chain-of-custody workflow with a licensed laboratory partner. It is used only for the testing you requested unless you separately opt in to anything further.

03

A clinician reviews before release

An independent licensed clinician reviews results before they are released to your private account. Numbers are not simply dumped into a dashboard for you to interpret alone.

04

You decide who else sees them

Results are viewable only by you. You choose whether to share them with a partner, a clinician, or anyone else — sharing is never on by default.

Your results are not the end of the process.

Clinician review exists so you are not left alone with a lab report. Where a result warrants a closer look, that is flagged for professional review — you are not handed a diagnosis, and you are not told a single number settles anything.

How we protect it

Security built around one assumption: this is sensitive.

Encryption

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to staff who need it to deliver the service.

Assessment answers stay private

Assessment responses are stored in a form that is not readable through the public site. They are not exposed in the interface, and not passed to third-party services that do not need them.

No health answers in ads or analytics

Marketing platforms and standard web analytics receive product events such as “assessment started” or “assessment completed”. Your actual answers about health, hormones, lifestyle, or conception are never sent to them.

Separate, revocable marketing consent

Marketing consent is a separate, optional choice and is never bundled with the terms you need to accept to use the service. Unsubscribe from any email in one click.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell your email, your test results, or your assessment answers. We do not send your health information to data brokers.

Vendors are held to the same standard

Laboratories, clinicians, hosting, email, and payment providers each receive only what they need to do their job, under contractual obligations to protect it.

Your choices

Your data, on your terms.

If you joined the early access list or started an assessment, you can manage what we hold without creating an account. Use the personal link in any email we send you, or contact us and we will handle the request.

Choose which emails you receive

Early access invitations, product updates, and educational content are separate toggles you can turn on or off.

Open email preferences

Get a copy of your data

Ask us for the information we hold about you and we will provide it in a portable, machine-readable format.

Make a request

Have your data deleted

Ask us to erase your record and we will remove your email, answers, and preferences from our systems.

Make a request

If you live somewhere with specific data rights — such as California, the EU/UK, or Canada — you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We would rather fix the problem for you first, so please write to us.

Who we share with

Four reasons your information ever leaves us.

Laboratory partners

Accredited laboratories process your sample and return results. They receive the identifiers needed to run and report the test — nothing more.

Clinicians

Licensed clinicians review results and answer your questions so your report comes with interpretation, not just numbers.

Service providers

Companies that host our infrastructure, send transactional email, ship kits, and process payments. Each is bound to use your data only for the job we hired them for.

When the law requires it

We may disclose information where we are legally compelled to do so. We push back on overbroad requests and tell you where we are permitted to.

How long we keep it

As long as you need it — and no longer than we must.

While you are with us

We keep your baseline, results, and preferences so your health history stays useful over time rather than resetting every visit. That is the point of an ongoing service.

After you ask us to delete

Deleting your account removes your email, assessment answers, and preferences from our systems. Some records may persist where we are legally required to keep them, such as order and tax records — those are kept minimally and protected the same way.

Good to know

A few honest limitations.

  • No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work hard to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a unique password and keep your email account protected.
  • This policy covers Kouros Health services. If you follow a link to another provider, their policy applies, so check it before you share anything.
  • We may update this page as the service grows. If changes materially affect how your health information is handled, we will tell you by email rather than only posting a note here.
  • Kouros Health is prelaunch. Today we are collecting early access interest and assessment answers only — no testing has shipped and no payment is being taken.
Questions

Talk to a person, not a form.

For anything about your data, your consent, or how testing information is handled, write to us and we will come back to you directly.

This page describes our privacy practices. It is not medical advice, and it does not create a clinician-patient relationship on its own.
